Its another blog! It’s been a while, like, a long while. Sorry for the absence, and even though the main reason is because we were struggling for time to put pen to paper, we’re gonna put it down to the fact that we were just doing too many bicep curls (bad focus). So, obviously from the title we’re going to chat about ourselves! And why not?! We’re awesome! After changing ownership at the end of 2015, CrossFit 5000 has been on the up in terms of changing peoples lives. The ethos Forging Fitness for Life has been at the forefront of all that the box does, and the ultimate goals is to find members a fun path to achieving their health and fitness goals.
‘CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. The aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness supported by measurable, observable and repeatable results.’1 There’s simple equipment; Kettle-bells, Dumbbells, Barbells, Plates, AirBike’s and Rower’s. It’s not complicated, its functional.
One of the main stigmas that comes with CrossFit, is that its only the fittest of the fittest can do it. Now we (as a CrossFit Community) may crown a Fittest on Earth every year, but we certainly don’t claim to only allow those at a peak level of fitness into our gym! You don’t have to be in shape to start! The point of CrossFit is to teach people how to move well, which keeps them injury-free and inspired to continue pursuing their health and fitness goals. The long-term result is some amazingly fit people. But just because you see some very fit members coming through the doors doesn’t mean they all started that way. We are firm believers that anyone can do CrossFit, whether you’re 8 or 80.
CrossFit 5000 has a strong, friendly environment with an array of different people at different fitness levels. No mirrors. No egos. Everyone is there for one reason: to achieve a better standard of fitness for themselves in a fun and varied way. Gone are the days of doing the same thing day-in day-out at the 24/7 gym; getting fit and healthy shouldn’t be boring or monotonous. It should be fun, varied and done with friends! Whether you want to lose a little belly fat and “firm up” some squishy parts, get moving again after being sedentary for too long, or you want to find your peak athleticism so that you can dominate the weekends in your hobbies of choice, CrossFit 5000 has a program for you.
We all know personal trainers cost an astronomical amount, and sometimes, we don’t feel like we’re heard. At CrossFit 5000, the coaches live and breathe the CrossFit philosophy and lifestyle. Their professional and approachable personalities provide a supportive and friendly environment which will facilitate your journey to success! They are constantly educating themselves so that they can share the most progressive training and nutrition methodologies and clients the results they desire. With small class sizes the coaching experience its so individual, you’ll feel like you’re getting a personal training experience, with the encouragement of your peers.
